The images below show the property when owned by Mr. Arnaz.  As you can see, the JCSD Parks & Recreation Department went to extraordinary lengths to preserve the integrity of the home.  Details like the kitchen tile work, layout of the living space and fireplace, and the location of the fountain were preserved to showcase the beauty of the villa.  In fact, as you enter the home you are greeting with the original engraving above the homes main entryway.  This engraving states, " Welcome to the house of Mr. Desiderio Alberto Arnaz and below this roof, a pleasant welcome is offered to you. Build by Jaime Hulsey. 1960 AD."
